We’re looking for a Portfolio Analyst to join our Technology Systems Investment (TSI) Programme, a major, greenfields transformation introducing multiple new technology platforms for our regions water provider.
This is a fixed term position until July 2026 with remuneration between $93,445 and $131,922 including KiwiSaver, appointment remuneration is dependent on experience.
The Opportunity
This is not a standard PMO role. You’ll be embedded in a large, complex programme spanning 8 delivery streams, working at the centre of governance, financial performance, and delivery insight, you will ensure robust project practice can be achieved programme wide.
Day to day you will:
· Deliver clear, high-quality reporting and insights that give leaders visibility of programme health, risks, and performance.
· Support end-to-end programme financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking spend across multiple workstreams.
· Provide analysis and reporting on financial outcomes, highlighting variances, trends, and emerging cost pressures to support informed decision-making.
· Partner closely with Finance to ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with organisational processes.
· Coordinate governance processes, ensuring forums run effectively and decisions and actions are tracked and progressed.
· Maintain oversight of risks, issues, and dependencies, helping ensure they are actively managed and escalated where needed.
· Contribute to programme assurance activities, including health checks and performance monitoring.
· Help shape and embed programme management practices, tools, and standards across multiple workstreams.
· Build strong relationships across Digital, Finance, and delivery teams to ensure alignment and transparency across the programme.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring at least 4 years’ experience working in ICT project or product delivery roles and:
Have a good understanding of delivery or project methodologies (ideally with Agile or Prince2 certification).
Great collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to coordinate and lead activity.
Broad expertise across a wide range of practice methods for digital products and service programmes.
Excellent planning with expertise in financial analysis, financial reporting and forecasting outcomes.
Great communication and collaborative competency to incorporate analysis practices within technology programmes.
Proficient reporting capabilities with good written and verbal communication.
