The opportunity
As Administrator Data Quality (GIS), you will join the Digital Products and Services (DPS) team who support Wellington Water, client councils, and partners with digital solutions. The Data Quality function ensures well-managed, high-quality data across the organisation, providing expertise in Asset Management, Geospatial, Time Series, Analytics, and Information Management.
In this entry-level role, you will be working closely with your GIS colleagues within the Digital Products & Services (DPS) team, to provide geospatial data, content, and platform support to a diverse range of users who view, use, and create spatial data, content, and services within the ArcGIS platform.
Specifically, you will:
Create, maintain, and support spatial services for use in and outside of Wellington Water
Manage an ever-growing library of authoritative geospatial content and data, encouraging its use and ensuring each is well managed, maintained, documented and accessible
Provide proactive and reactive support, training, and advice to a wide range of ArcGIS users who are using, creating, and managing ArcGIS content, services, and geospatial data sets
Support the development of various geospatial solutions with your ever-growing geospatial data expertise
Support platform administration and operational activities, including managing content permissions and platform membership
You will also have the opportunity to work across our different data domains (asset, time series, analytics), helping you to gain a wider range of data knowledge and experience.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent entry level experience in a relevant field (e.g. GIS, geography, asset management, or engineering)
Entry-level geospatial experience, such as authoring maps and/or managing geospatial data
Experience working with ESRI software (including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro)
Familiarity with cartographic design, map visualisation, spatial data formats, and spatial analysis techniques
Knowledge of data management practices, including metadata standards and data quality assurance
The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, and be eager to continuously learn new platforms, tools, and skills.
