The remuneration range for this role starts from $69,288 (including KiwiSaver) and will be determined by your skills and experience.
The opportunity
Join Wellington Water’s People and Capability team and play a key role in supporting our people. You’ll provide day-to-day coordination and administration across a variety of HR functions, including onboarding and offboarding, responding to general employee enquiries relating to payroll, leave, and employment matters, HR reporting, and early career programmes.
You’ll also assist with team coordination activities to help ensure our people processes run smoothly.
With your strong organisational skills and an interest in enhancing your HR expertise, this role offers excellent opportunities to gain exposure across all aspects of the People and Capability function and contribute to the culture of an organisation that truly values its people.
About you
This is an opportunity for you to add value and play a pivotal role in the culture of our organisation, to be successful you will:
- A genuine interest in People and Capability, demonstrated through study or work experience
- A sound understanding of New Zealand employment legislation (Holidays Act, Employment Relations Act, Privacy Act)
- Great communication skills — both written and verbal — and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life
- Strong attention to detail and a knack for keeping things organised
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and other business applications to manage data, create templates, and produce reports
- A basic understanding of accounts administration (e.g. purchase orders, invoicing)
- Payroll knowledge would be an advantage, but not essential
