This is a full time permanent position with a remuneration range for this role is $71,769 to $101,321 (including KiwiSaver). Starting remuneration will be dependent on experience and network understanding.
The opportunity
Wellington Water Ltd have a unique opportunity in this new technical support role to provide customer service, water network expertise and to plan and support work activities that will enable trade qualified individuals to carry out planned and reactive work for commercial and private water services. Day to day you will take inbound enquiries via our new customer support enquiry line (trade line), to trouble shoot issues, investigate and locate asset information, arranging planned water shutdowns and similar network activities that support private remedial water improvements that are being completed by plumbers and other trade qualified individuals.
This will require you to assess asset information and locations, utilise your water network experience and collaborate with internal operation teams to undertake activities that facilitate trade requested work. You will also be required to travel to site and investigate issues from time to time and to scope planned work requirements.
About you
Our ideal candidate may be a plumber that is looking to come off the tools, or enjoys more customer interaction and resolution, you will additionally have:
- Qualified Plumber would be an advantage.
- An understanding and experience leading planned work activities, ideally with understanding of requirements for public work requirements.
- Excellent customer service and customer resolution focuses.
- Experience arranging and an understanding of work access permits.
- An understanding of water assets, asset location drawings and leak detection technology.
- Good written capabilities and use of technology (asset management and mapping tools).
- Previous experience with local by-laws and requirements of private and commercial customers relating to water reticulation.
- A relevant trade qualification or level 4 and above water reticulation qualification and full drivers license.
