This is a permanent position with a remuneration band starting from 71,769 (including kiwisaver), appointment remuneration will depend on your level of experience.
The opportunity
At Wellington Water the need to access and utilise good quality data and information is increasingly important across all roles in our business, for the delivery of our services, and the way we work together.
The Administrator, Data Analytics positions is an entry level role where you will be responsible for developing and maintaining authoritative data sets, dashboards, and reports for teams and users in and outside of Wellington Water, to ensure their decision-making is backed up by trusted data and information. Day-to-day you will be:
- Developing and maintaining data sets, integrations, and dashboards aligned with business priorities.
- Interpreting and presenting analytics findings to support decision-making.
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining data management and dashboarding standards and processes.
- Support the promotion and accessibility of authoritative data, dashboards and reports.
- Provide training and assistance to other data analysts across Wellington Water.
- Assist in managing platform issues and ensuring accurate data interfacing between systems.
Alongside working with other data professionals in your team, you will also support and collaborate with data analysts embedded in Wellington Water’s core functions to deliver projects and collectively grow the group’s skills and experience.
Additionally, the role supports broader data management activities within the Data, Information & Analytics team, primarily providing you with the opportunity to broaden your data knowledge and experience, and secondarily providing resilience to the wider team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or entry-level experience in relevant fields like computer science, statistics, or finance.
- At least 1 years' experience in data analytics and dashboard development.
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
- Ability to analyse data and effectively communicate insights.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Familiarity with Excel, Tableau Flow, AWS, data warehousing, or SQL.
- Experience working in agile or cross-functional team environments.
- An understanding of user experience principles in relation to reporting and dashboarding.
The ideal candidate will also have a strong attention to detail, and be eager to continuously learn new platforms, tools, and skills.
