This is a position covering parental leave through to end of November 2025
The remuneration range for this role starts from 90,763 (including KiwiSaver) and will depend on skills and experience.
The opportunity
The Portfolio Analyst will guarantee efficient utilisation and continual improvement of portfolio management practices that ensure effective delivery of business outcomes. They are a pivotal part of the Portfolio Management team responsible for delivery support of digital and business change at Wellington Water. The Portfolio Analyst plays a key role in fostering, integrating, and enhancing these portfolio management practices.
Responsibilities include conducting portfolio planning, generating reports, managing risks, issues, and dependencies, as well as fulfilling the secretariat duties for portfolio governance meetings. Additionally, the role may involve occasionally assuming the responsibility of a delivery lead for initiatives within the portfolio.
Day to day responsibilities
- Support delivery leads in effective portfolio management processes and tools for project planning and execution.
- Lead the collation and publication of portfolio reporting, managing dependencies, risks, and issues.
- Coordinate triage process for digital products and service requests.
- Support financial and commercial aspects of portfolio management.
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on portfolio practices and driving continuous improvement.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring at least 4 years’ experience working in ICT project or product delivery roles and:
- Have a good understanding of delivery or project methodologies (ideally with Agile or Prince2 certification).
- Considerable experience working on digital portfolios and complex projects or work programmes.
- Great collaboration and relationship management skills, with the ability to coordinate and lead activity.
- Subject matter expertise across a wide range of digital products and services.
- Excellent planning and analysis process experience to develop change project schedules.
- Proficient reporting capabilities with good written and verbal communication.
