This is a full time position of 40 hours per week
The remuneration midpoint for this role is $ 91,075 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience
The groups outcomes are delivered through an innovative alliance, comprising people and resources from Wellington Water and Fulton Hogan.
The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to provide support and cover for the Team Leader whose responsibility it is to ensure that the Water Supply system is maintained in accordance with best practice quality, and to set service delivery standards while managing Water crews. The Deputy Team Leader is also responsible for delivering more complex maintenance, reactive and upgrade work as part of an Alliance.
The role maintains a hand-on focus at least 50% of the time, assisting service crews on the tools where necessary and participating in the service team on-call roster when not covering the Team Leader.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Full NZ class 1 and 2 License
- Holds or working towards the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) (Level 4) with strands in Drinking Water or Stormwater/Wastewater
- Experience in operations of water systems
- Knowledge of plant and equipment capabilities
- Supervisory skills and ability to mentor and lead staff
- Knowledgeable about current heath and safety practices
- Proven computer literacy skills
