We have a permanent opportunity for an individual that can provide leadership and water engineering experience to improve infrastructure and achieve positive outcomes for our community and environment.
The opportunity
The Wellington Water Alliance is an Alliance between Wellington Water and Fulton Hogan
As the Head of Network Operations and Engineering, you will work within the Alliance leadership team to operate and maintain the three waters reticulation networks across the Greater Wellington Region and South Wairarapa. This role will lean on your expertise to lead technical and operational teams, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and address key areas of focus for three water infrastructure funding, development and capital work programmes and initiatives.
The Network Operations and Engineering teams plays a vital role in ensuring that we continue to provide safe and healthy water to our customers.
This includes:
- Network operation and incident management.
- Condition assessment and monitoring.
- The development of planned maintenance programmes.
- The delivery of allocated capital programmes, and providing engineering technical support and evaluation.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of complex three waters networks.
- Experience directing programmes of work relating to engineering infrastructure from concept to delivery.
- An Engineering qualification and previous water engineering experience.
- Excellent leadership experience, with the ability to prioritise and focus direction and efforts across multiple teams.
- Ability to engage meaningfully with community and external stakeholders including iwi and mana whenua to achieve positive partnerships.
- Astute financial and budget management experience across capital programmes.
- Ability to build and a positive team culture dedicated to high performance, collaboration, and risk management.
