Wellington Water is currently working with the Wellington Metropolitan councils on a significant programme of work that will lead to impactful improvements and conservation of water for our community through water metering.
The opportunity
The Metering Programme Team has been established to deliver a transformational programme that will work from concept and planning to delivery phase for the implementation of 130,000 residential meters.
As the Programme Manager you will work closely with a team of expert leads from a variety of organisational functions to ensure the work programme is delivered to achieve best possible outcomes in an effective and efficient manner. You will support the Head of Metering Programme Establishment, by overseeing a wide range of activities within the integrated programme.
Your leadership input and programme management experience will help direct strategic approaches across this complex programme, day to day you will work with internal and external subject matter experts to direct the needs of the programme and pull together information from various workstreams required for planning and delivery in all aspects.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Proven ability to implement core business strategy and objectives into programmes of work.
- Experience overseeing complex projects and/or large programmes in an integrated way across a broad spectrum of workstreams.
- Ability to navigate programme governance, and facilitate needs of governing bodies, councils, or boards.
- Experience in teams of professional technical people and experts with the ability to engage and motivate others.
- Experience managing a programme with significant political, community and iwi interest.
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
- Excellent reporting skills, including financial, risk and progression reports.
- Strong financial and leadership skills.
