The opportunity
This is a newly created role for a technical expert who will be responsible for establishing, embedding, and continuously improving a highly effective Accounts Receivable function. While you will provide leadership to a small team, this role is heavily hands‑on and will rely on your deep expertise in accounts receivable, debt management, and revenue processes.
You will play a key role in designing robust systems, controls, and workflows, with a strong focus on efficiency, accuracy, and governance. A significant component of the role is relationship management, particularly working closely with local councils and external stakeholders to understand their processes, frameworks, and requirements, and to ensure strong alignment. In this role you will:
Manage the end-to-end Accounts Receivable function, establishing efficient systems, processes, and controls.
Actively managing complex operational issues and day to day delivery.
Oversee high‑volume invoicing, credit control, debt management, and reconciliations, including revenue from commercial enterprises and developers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local councils and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with billing, approval, and payment frameworks.
Ensure continuous improvement through compliant financial processing, risk management, policy development, system enhancements (e.g. TechOne), and reporting.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
High level technical expertise in accounts receivable, including credit control, debt management, and complex invoicing.
Proven experience leading or guiding an Accounts Receivable function, balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on delivery.
Demonstrated ability to design, improve, and embed efficient AR systems, processes, and revenue governance frameworks.
