Senior Project Engineer
Lead high-impact water infrastructure projects, provide senior technical leadership across various programmes. Mentor engineers, shape regional outcomes, and help protect water as a precious Taonga.

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $108,644 to $153,379 p.a. (including KiwiSaver), depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering and assuring critical water infrastructure projects across the region. You will provide senior technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, shaping forward works programmes, guiding project decisions, and mentoring Project Engineers. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants to influence long-term network performance and community outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
· Extensive experience delivering infrastructure projects within the water sector
· Ability to lead, mentor and provide technical assurance to Project Engineers
· Confidence overseeing scope, design, constructability reviews and risk management
· Ability to manage contractors, consultants, programmes and budgets
· Strong communication skills to engage councils, customers, contractors and regulators
