Wastewater Operations and Asset Advisor
You'll serve as a liaison between Veolia and Wellington Water’s operations, communications, asset planning and capital delivery teams to ensure critical functions are properly coordinated and aligned.
• Influence regional wastewater performance and environmental outcomes
· • Liaise with a major contractor to drive compliance, plant optimisation and capital assurance

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $86,230 to $121,736 p.a. (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
This role sits at the critical interface between Wellington Water and our wastewater treatment plant services contractor. You will support operational performance, asset renewals, regulatory compliance and capital monitoring across treatment plants, ensuring environmental and public health outcomes are achieved.
You will:
Monitor wastewater treatment plant performance and escalate operational risks
Oversee contractor delivery against consent conditions and contract KPIs
Coordinate minor capital renewals and track expenditure against budget
Lead compliance reporting, breach investigations and “Please Explain” responses
Build strong relationships with contractors, regulators and internal teams
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
A diploma in Wastewater, Process, Environmental, Asset Management or related field (Degree desirable)
Experience overseeing operations and maintenance of water or wastewater infrastructure
Demonstrated capability managing contractor performance and influencing outcomes
Working knowledge of resource consent compliance and environmental reporting
Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence engaging regulators and stakeholders
