This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
The remuneration range for this role is $80,369 to $113,462 p.a. (including KiwiSaver), depending on skills and experience.
The opportunity
In this role you’ll safeguard the performance of wastewater networks and treatment plants by monitoring and managing trade waste discharges. You’ll lead the identification, implementation and operation of monitoring technologies, ensuring early warnings and proactive risk mitigation. Acting as the organisation’s subject matter expert, you’ll provide technical advice, support compliance, and work closely with operations teams to protect the long-term health of wastewater assets.
Implement and maintain monitoring technologies and sampling systems.
Analyse data to detect risks and inform interventions
Advise internal teams on trade waste impacts and mitigation.
Build effective relationships with customers and regulators
Improvement and trial of emerging monitoring technologies
About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience
Full NZ Driver's License
Proven experience in wastewater, trade waste, or environmental monitoring
Hands-on capability with monitoring technology, sampling systems and data interpretation
Strong stakeholder, communication, and problem-solving skills
