The opportunity
Here's an exciting position to become part of the water industry helping the community offering growth and development! Be part of the team to help deliver Wellington’s water across the region. It really suits if you enjoy an active lifestyle and want a hands-on role.
Working within our bulk pipelines and fabrication team you will support planned maintenance and remedial work across our bulk water pipelines between our treatment plants, water reservoirs and our natural waterways. You will be a key person to ensure that our assets are well maintained, and our environment and waterways are well protected from faults. This requires frequent valve and fitting repairs and new installations along with general pipeline maintenance.
This role will help keep you in good shape with regular outdoor work in unique settings and requires some heavy lifting and training / development in use of role specific hand tools and powered equipment.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Full Class 1 Drivers License (use of company vehicles will be required from time to time)
- Physically fit with ability to lift heavy items
- Competent with basic hand and power-tools
- An interest in protecting our environment and waterways
- Ability to learn quickly and work within a small team with autonomy
- Ability to work evenings and nights from time to time for planned nightwork
