This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.
This is a permanent position, with a remuneration range between $98,925 and 139,658 (including KiwiSaver). Appointment remuneration will depend on years and level of experience.
The opportunity
Are you passionate about data and excited to shape the future of sustainable data warehouse solutions? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Warehouse Specialist to join our Wellington Water Digital Products and Technology Solutions team. You will play a pivotal role in leading the design, planning, and delivery of innovative data warehouse solutions while ensuring operational stability and optimal performance.
As a key contributor you will take ownership of implementing and maintain robust data infrastructure, driving improvements in data quality, documentation, and performance tuning. Your technical expertise will help ensure our solutions remain compliant with privacy standards and aligned with our broader enterprise architecture.

About you
To thrive in this role, you will bring a passion for data excellence and a strong background in designing and supporting data warehouse solutions that deliver real business value.
Additionally, you will have the following:
- Proven experience as a Data Warehouse Specialist or in a similar role, with expertise in data pipelines, data modelling, and warehouse management.
- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with modern data warehousing tools such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
- A demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and optimize large-scale systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
- A continuous improvement mindset, committed to applying best practices and innovative enhancements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
