The remuneration range midpoint for this role is 97,760 (including KiwiSaver), appointment remuneration will be dependent on skills and experience.
The opportunity
Wellington Water is responsible for delivering a Capital Delivery Programme that renews water infrastructure, upgrades treatment facilities and strengthens infrastructure to ensure resilience of the water network and further protect our natural environment.
We have a unique opportunity for you to join our Programme Practice Team and work directly with our Project Directors and Programme Leads to ensure capital delivery projects are scoped and planned effectively. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining schedules, monitoring project timelines, and ensuring that construction projects stay on track, on time, and within budget.
This is an opportunity to further refine your project experience and contribute to meaningful community infrastructure and water utility projects by:
- Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
- Track programme and project progress, identify potential delays, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure timelines align with budgetary and quality expectations.
- Identify potential delays or risks and suggest corrective actions to ensure project success.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure milestones are met.
- Provide regular reports and updates to management on project timelines, progress, and forecasts.
- Continually collaborate with Project Lead’s and support ongoing planning activities.
About you
Ideally you will have a strong background in leading scheduling, planning, or related disciplines within the construction activity on large-scale programmes. You’ll also possess excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to initiate and engage effectively at all levels, both internally and externally. Additionally, you will have:
- A thorough understanding of best practice within infrastructure programmes of work.
- Strong knowledge of scheduling methods.
- Ability to interpret schedules, resource plans, and progress reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent project reporting skills and ability to track and manage project risks and financial performance.
- Ability to understand technical engineering terms and collaborate effectively with internal and external experts.
- Experience with a range of project management tools and ability to create KPI dashboards.
