This is a full time position of 40 hours per week
The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to provide maintenance and repairs to the Wellington Region 3 waters utilities assets such as, for example, pump stations, reservoirs and pressure reducing valves, ensuring diagnoses and resolution of operational failures and completion of planned maintenance.
The role requires the job holder to be able to communicate with both internal and external customers, and to deliver a high level of service to our wider customers.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Enrolled in and actively working towards the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works Level 3 (Stormwater and Wastewater Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) or New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works Level 3 (Drinking Water Pipeline Construction and Maintenance).
- Driving License Class 1 and 2 (HT Full)
- Understand the operation of water, storm water and waste water pump stations.
- Holds experience in working independently on range of basic repairs across the Utilities assets
- Physically fit – able to perform heavy manual labour.
- Able to assist effectively on more complex jobs, with a more experienced serviceperson or under supervision and guidance .
