Pipelines Foreperson

We are on the lookout for a Pipelines Foreperson to assist in the management of assets associated with the bulk water supply pipeline system.

People work at Wellington Water because they want to make a difference, and that means you will be helping to look after our most precious assets: water, human health and welfare, and the environment, so our communities can prosper.

Our Pomare based, Major Pipelines and Fabrications team are looking for a keen Pipelines Foreperson. Your previous experience will ideally be within the water industry and you'll come from a trade background with a National Certificate in Water Reticulation. In addition, you'll have a thorough understanding of the installation and repair of large diameter steel piping systems. You will also have experience with interpreting and amending construction drawings, service drawings and GIS information. Using this experience, you will ensure bulk water pipework systems are secure and do not pose significant risk to water quality whilst being a mentor and training other staff as required.

It's important that you can champion a strong health and safety culture as part of this role. You'll be based at our Pomare depot in Lower Hutt, and may work around the region. Some after-hours work may be required. With the physical requirements of the role you will have the ability to enter confined spaces.

In return for bringing to this role your wealth of experience and knowledge, along with a proactive attitude, Wellington Water offers a great workplace culture. We encourage growth and personal development, and as part of an operationally focused team you will certainly get an opportunity to learn on the job. You'll be part of a great team and have all the support and benefits of a large organisation. We know you'll enjoy working here too!

Application close on Sunday the 12th of July.
