Utilities Service person

We are on the look out for two qualified fitter welders! If you or someone you know is looking for a change of pace then get in touch!

Utilities Serviceperson

People work at Wellington Water because they want to make a difference for the people of the Wellington region. We are searching for two qualified fitter welders to work out of our Porirua depot on the network.

In this role you will ensure the pipes are installed, maintained and repaired to achieve a high level of reliability and performance. You understand that success in the role depends not only on your technical skills, but also on your ability to be proactive and supportive of other team members.

Your previous experience will ideally be within the water industry and you'll come from a mechanical trade background with a trade certificate in fitting and welding. In addition, you'll have a thorough understanding of the operation, maintenance and refurbishment of critical operational items (such as pumps, compressors, valves and actuators). You will also have experience with computerized asset maintenance and procurement systems and be comfortable working with databases and spreadsheets.

We are the trusted advisor for six client councils, which means that we have demands across the wider Wellington region. As a result there will be an expectation that candidates will be available as part of a rotating after hours roster to ensure that the network keeps running.

In return for bringing to this role your wealth of experience and knowledge, we have a culture that encourages growth and personal development, and as part of an operationally focused team you will certainly get an opportunity to learn on the job.

With Wellington Water, you will find a culture that is supportive, welcoming and diverse. We are leading the industry in New Zealand and looking at new ways of doing things all the time. Visit our website www.wellingtonwater.co.nz to read about the innovative things that we get up to.

Applications close on Sunday the 1st of March 2020.
