Team Lead, Data, Information and Analysis

We are now looking for a passionate data geek to join our newly established Digital Products and Services team and lead our Data, Information and Analysis functions.

People work at Wellington Water because they want to make a difference; that means helping to look after our most precious assets: water, human health and welfare, and the environment so our communities can prosper.

It is an exciting time to work in the water sector as the focus on challenges such as climate change and sustainable water supply require us to work both innovatively and collaboratively.

The ability to access and utilise good quality data and information is increasingly important across all roles in our business for both the delivery of our services and the way we work together. The recent announcement of a new water regulator and new water regulations will only amplify the role our data and information assets will play in the future in order to inform our priorities, operate efficiently and demonstrate compliance.

As a member of the newly established Digital Products and Services leadership team, you will be instrumental in supporting both the establishment of the team and transitioning the organisation towards a new way of delivering technology and ultimately data and information services through cross functional teams.

Responsible for the line management of a small data quality team you will ensure that resources are prioritised with organisational needs and support the delivery of a source of truth to underpin organisational analysis and use. You will also bring your subject matter expertise to provide technical advice as part of cross functional delivery teams.

You will use your strong relationship management skills to quickly make connections and build up and lead a community of practice across the organisation, our partners and client councils, ensuring that standards, specifications and methodologies are developed and maintained collaboratively.

Knowledge of Tableau is highly advantageous. Knowledge of or experience in the Water sector is not a prerequisite.

We’re based in Petone and if you join us we can offer you a role where you’re supported to do your best and grow your career, in a friendly, fun and team-focused environment.
