This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week
The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to maintain mechanical equipment and systems at water, wastewater and stormwater pump stations, reservoirs and bulk water distribution facilities across the Three Waters network and ensure they are installed, maintained and repaired to achieve a high level of reliability and performance.
The role maintains a hands-on focus at least 80% of the time, leading, assisting, coaching and developing our service crews and participating in the delivery teams on-call roster.
The Crew Lead is also responsible for delivering more complex maintenance, reactive and upgrade work.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Trade Qualified Mechanical Engineer
- Full NZ class 1 & 2 license
- Proficient at fault finding, problem-solving and rectification.
- Skilled welder and machine operator
- Proven supervisory skills and well-developed interpersonal skills particularly with the general public
- Ability to read and understand plans
- Ability to lead and mentor staff
- Knowledge and commitment to health and safety practices
- Knowledge of plant and equipment capabilities
- Planning, time management, organisational and computer skills including CMMS, GIS to manage work and operating Scada
- Takes effective control of non-escalation assignments
