This is a full time position of 40 hours per week
The opportunity
The purpose of this role is to ensure water and drainage systems are meeting the needs of the region, in an environmentally safe and hygienic manner, while meeting best-practice safety, quality and service delivery standards.
The Crew Lead is also responsible for delivering more complex maintenance, reactive and upgrade work. The role maintains a hands-on focus at least 80% of the time, leading, assisting, coaching, and developing our service crews.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- A New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Pipeline Construction and Maintenance) (Level 3), preferably with strands in Drinking Water or Stormwater/Wastewater and Trenchless Technologies and actively working towards Level 4.
- Full NZ class 1 & 2 license
- Experience in operations of three waters assets
- Proven supervisory skills and well-developed interpersonal skills particularly with the general public
- Ability to read and understand plans
- Ability to lead and mentor staff
- Knowledge and commitment to health and safety practices
- Knowledge of plant and equipment capabilities
- Planning, time management, organisational and computer skills including CMMS, GIS to manage work
