Your work life is about to get more rewarding, as you look at the future of water in Wellington and see real benefits from your efforts.

Senior Engineers - Stormwater and Wastewater

Principal Engineer - Wastewater

What would you do if you had the opportunity to bring your network engineering expertise to a role where you could think innovatively, shape a city and its communities, and see tangible results of your work?

Hopefully you’d be very interested, because this is a chance for you to get involved in catchment wide developments where you can creatively explore ways to connect your work with real people. As Principal/Senior Engineer, you’ll be involved in devising strategies and driving them forward. You’ll take a guiding role on network projects, supporting the team to carry them out and lending your technical expertise to complex issues.

If you want to be somewhere that’s bold and progressive in its aims and accomplishments, you’ll definitely find what you’re looking for at Wellington Water. In wastewater, our focus is on improving our network performance for increasing environmental standards and planning for growth.  In stormwater, our big focus is on water quality, and how that helps us to connect our people with waterways and the coast. Shaping our cities and communities is an important part of this role – after all, water and water quality is absolutely integral to a society.

You might be considering a step up for your career, or perhaps you’re already working at this level but are keen to be somewhere that you can use your skills more innovatively. You’ll be joining a good-sized organisation with a team of around 20 engineers, where you’ll have plenty of scope to professionally challenge yourself and people to share ideas and knowledge with.

You’ll already know how good our reputation is, and our network engineering team is no exception. You’ll find a collegial and collaborative team, who are all just as interested as you are in the possibilities we can create together.

It’s a team environment you’ll thrive in if you’re personable and well-organised. As well as good written and verbal communication skills, you’ll be a strong leader with charisma who can bring a team together and get things done.

What more could you want? Top it off with all Wellington has to offer, with its arts and culture scene, restaurants, and family-friendly lifestyle, and there’s no better reason to take your next career step.

Does this role sound like you? Apply today. Please send your CV and a brief covering letter.    Applications close at 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2019.

Applicants will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment with Wellington Water.
