The opportunity
As the Senior Advisor Service Delivery (Treatment) you will establish and lead an operational improvement programme for the treatment plants that are managed in house. You will work to build organisation wide networks and ensure other functions across the organisation are effectively supporting the operations and maintenance of our treatment plants. This will involve acting as the liaison between the treatment plants and other functional groups to ensure support delivered is fit for purpose. You will also support the Manager, Treatment with day-to-day operational decisions and guidance across the team.
About you
Your experience might be in the private sector or public sector, but wherever you come from you will thrive in the role if you have a desire to deliver a difference to the councils and community we work for. Ideally you can show the following:
- A qualification in engineering, planning or other relevant area
- 15 years’ experience in a relevant engineering or planning environment, ideally treatment plants
- Familiarity with engineering planning and processes and understand infrastructure commissioning
- An understanding of workflows and how to identify and define issues, and create and implement practical solutions
- The ability to think in terms of systems, understanding how the parts influence the whole, and apply a collaborative approach to problem solving with a focus on curiosity and understanding
About our team
The Network Management Group (NMG) ensures all our treatment business operates well. Treatment includes drinking water and wastewater and the disposal of sludge. The Treatment Team is an in-house team treating and supplying drinking water and treating and disposing of wastewater, and sludge They are responsible for operating the treatment plants, advising on maintenance planning and delivery, performance monitoring, assisting with asset data collection and regulatory compliance for the treatment plants.
The Team has three functional operational areas, production control, Wellington operating area and Southern Wairarapa operating area.
