The Opportunity
The purpose of the position of Practice Excellence Lead is to define what good project and programme management looks like for Wellington Water, and then help us to deliver to that standard. You will improve the maturity of our programme and project management through strong functional leadership, definition of processes and practice excellence, training, rolling out change initiatives and knowledge sharing.
You will act as the subject matter expert; Investigating and defining best practice in programme management, project management & project controls, based on analysis and review of industry standards. You will develop high-level programme and project business process framework.

About you
Your credentials show that you establish and maintain collaborative working relationships, communicating responsibilities regarding practice excellence frameworks well. You have a significant experience working in an infrastructure-related project management environment, having worked on complex projects and/or programmes, including cross-sector experience.
You hold a tertiary qualification that is relevant, coupled with your experience of taking the lead to demonstrate your best practice approach. You are strategic. That you understand business case and investment drivers. You are skilled with change management initiatives. Your work reflects a continuous improvement philosophy.
About our team
The Programme Practice Team provides a full suite of support functions and delivery processes, policies and procedures to ensure practice excellence for the capital programme.
Their specialist services are delivered internally to programmes and projects including Major Projects, Programme Delivery, Design Team, Network Engineering, Network Management Group and the Customer Operations Group. They also work across our supplier whanau to build consistency and quality of our project delivery.
