Not only is water our most precious resource but it’s a hot topic in the Wellington region and nationally.
As a trusted advisor to the region’s Councils, we partner with the community, engineering consultants and contractors to deliver drinking water, wastewater and storm water services from source to sea.
Where you come in
As Project Lead Major Projects, you will lead the delivery of critical water infrastructure projects to meet the needs of our Client Councils in the Wellington region.
Reporting to the Manager Major Projects within the Network Development and Delivery Group, you’ll be working to help deliver one or more of Wellington Water’s major large scale capital projects through our consultancy and contractor network safely, on time and on budget. You will ensure a robust project methodology is in place, projects are managed effectively and the community is fully engaged. You will work collaboratively with other teams and ensure strong integration across Wellington Water and will develop strong relationships with the consultancy and contractors.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 5+ years’ in the construction sector
- Experience in leading multi-disciplinary, virtual, cross-organisation or industry teams with a wide span of control
- Experience in influencing and working effectively at a senior level
- Experience engaging directly with special interest groups that are affected or seeking change
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex programmes, able to bring best practice processes to the management, planning, design and implementation of programs with a focus on expert delivery.
Your experience might be in the private sector or public sector, but wherever you come from you will thrive in the role if you have a desire to deliver a difference to the councils and community we work for.
