Who are we:

We manage the drinking water, wastewater, and storm water services from source to sea for our client councils, who are the Hutt, Porirua, Upper Hutt and Wellington city councils, South Wairarapa District Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council. We partner with the community, engineering consultants and contractors on water services projects, water conservation, operations work and asset planning.

Where do you come in:

As member of the Digital Products and Services (DPS) leadership team you contribute to enabling Wellington Waters’ business outcomes through the provision of data, information, and technology services and solutions.  You are responsible for working collaboratively within the team and across the organisation to understand requirements and develop appropriate roadmaps to improve Wellington Water’ ICT capability.  Through leadership of the DPS ICT Team and management of Wellington Waters’ ICT vendors you ensure effective ICT services and operations.

We are looking for your subject matter expertise and experience in vendor management, ICT service management, cyber security and cloud environments to provide technical leadership to Wellington Water.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in people management and team development in the ICT environment.
  • Good working knowledge of a broad range of technologies and tools including but not limited to the Microsoft toolset, the Azure and AWS platforms, and associated security and management tools.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills that build strong relationships with stakeholders, so they feel well informed and have a high level of trust.
  • A proven collaborative approach that brings people together to achieve high level results.
  • The ability to understand the detail while focusing on the big picture.
  • The ability to thrive with ambiguity in a busy and fast paced environment.

In addition to the above, you will hold a relevant tertiary or professional qualification in computer science or equivalent work experience and be a self-starter who is focused on providing solutions and outcomes that are in line with best practice.
