Who are we:

We manage the drinking water, wastewater and storm water services from source to sea for our client councils, who are the Hutt, Porirua, Upper Hutt and Wellington city councils, South Wairarapa District Council and Greater Wellington Regional Council. We partner with the community, engineering consultants and contractors on water services projects, water conservation, operations work and asset planning.

Where do you come in:

The Carbon Modeller role sits within the Network Development and Delivery Group. The purpose of this role is to support Wellington Water to understand the carbon impact of delivering three water services and how to achieve Net Zero carbon by 2050 by baselining, monitoring and reporting Wellington Waters carbon use in both capital and operational projects. The role will assist in identifying trends and identify low carbon solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will be highly skilled in:

  • Experience with three waters engineering. 
  • Experience in carbon accounting/assessment and life cycle experience developing and managing data analysis tools
  • Skilled in report writing and the development and delivery of presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Skilled in data gathering, able to bring together data from a variety of sources and stakeholders
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), active listening and problem-solving abilities

In addition to the above, you will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (for example, carbon management, sustainability, Engineering or Science)
